Thanks to Er:Glass’ special wavelength of 1540 nm, water absorption remains below 2940 nm. The skin is treated up to a penetration depth of 1 mm, while the epidermis is protected by skin cooling. This leads to increased collagen and cell renewal.
No smoke evacuation system is necessary, as the laser light does not ablate the skin and hence no smoke forms.
