New study published: fractional Er:YAG equals fractional CO2 treatment results
Latest study on comparing fractional Er:YAG (MCL30) & CO2 (Fraxel Re:pair®) treatment of facial rhytides finally proves:
There are NO differences in results –
“Both modalities showed a roughly equivalent effect. Wrinkle depth and Fitzpatrick score were reduced by approximately 20% and 10%, respectively, with no appreciable difference between lasers.“
There are NO differences in patient satisfaction –
“Patient satisfaction was fair and the majority of patients would have undergone the treatment again without a clear preference for either method. The patients’ rating of both methods showed no appreciable or statistically significant difference.“
There are NO differences in side effects –
“Side effects and discomfort were slightly more pronounced after Er:YAG treatment in the first few days, but in the later course there were more complaints following CO2 laser treatment.”
This study contradicts the claim of diverse competitors that CO2 has far better results than Er:YAG.
More than that Er:YAG not only offers equal results but also is more economical in terms of disposables (Fraxel Re:pair uses disposable tips, Er:YAG no disposables) & Maintenance and the Er:YAG offers an integrated smoke evacuation system.
These facts should eliminate all doubts on Er:YAG – it is the better solution!
